Withdrawn
A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The method serves for the quantitative determination of the content of butyl rubber (IIR)1) or polyisobutylene (IM)2) and is applicable both to the raw polymers and to mixtures and elastomers with this polymers. The method is particularly useful for the determination of small quantities of these polymers in elastomers. It is applicable to blends with butadiene rubber (BR), chloroprene rubber (CR), synthetic polyisoprene (IR), natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM) and with styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). Applicability to elastomers with other polymers must be determined by analysis of control samples with known and similar composition.
