Sets out three test methods using the same apparatus for evaluating the oxidation stability of mineral insulating oils and of hydrocarbon based insulating liquids. This Standard is based on but is not equivalent to, and has been reproduced from, IEC 61125:1992.

This International Standard describes three test methods using the same apparatus for evaluating the oxidation stability of mineral insulating oils and of hydrocarbon-based insulating liquids. It comprises four sections as follows:Section 1 describes the following items common to the three methods:û the equipment and reagents;û the cleaning of the glassware;û the preparation of the catalyst and of the insulating liquid sample to be tested;û the determinations on the oxidized insulating liquid.Section 2 û Method A describes a method for evaluating the oxidation stability of unused uninhibited mineral insulating oils under accelerated conditions.Section 3 û Method B describes a method for evaluating the oxidation stability of unused inhibited mineral insulating oils under accelerated conditions.Section 4 û Method C describes a method for evaluating the oxidation stability of unused uninhibited and inhibited hydrocarbon insulating liquids under accelerated conditions.
