This specification prescribes safety requirements for electrically-heated blankets, including underblankets (mattress overlays) and overblankets for connection to low and extra-low voltage supply. In addition to the blanket itself, the specification applies to any transformer supplied with or intended for connection to a particular blanket. It does not apply to heating pads covered by AS C149, nor to electrically-heated mattresses.
