1.1This specification covers the requirements for aerial work that apply to all classes of aircraft that meet the requirements for Light Sport Category Aircraft.
1.2Aerial work included within this specification shall be limited to the following:
1.2.1Glider towing;
1.2.2Banner towing;
1.2.3Airborne signs;
1.2.4Aerial photography;
1.2.5News media and traffic reporting;
1.2.6Aerial survey;
1.2.7Patrolling;
1.2.8Space vehicle launch support; and
1.2.9Sound advertising.
Note 1:All the types of aerial work listed above are regarded as high altitude. See 4.5.
1.3Units—The values given in this standard are in SI units and are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to inch-pound (or other) units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents. Where it may not be clear, some equations provide the units of the result directly following the equation.
