This Australian Technical Specification sets out requirements for installation of meters complying with ATS 4747.2 for use in non-urban applications in closed conduit applications.Two types of meter installations are covered in this Australian Technical Specification, as follows:(a) Meters whose calibration is not affected by the installation, provided the installation is in accordance with the installation conditions specified in the manufacturer’s instructions and/or conditions of pattern approval.(b) Meters that are installed in accordance with an Australian Technical Specification, which need to be - (i) calibrated after installation in order to conform with the accuracy requirements; and(ii) endorsed by the authority having jurisdiction before they can be used.In this Australian Technical Specification a meter installation is considered to include - (A) meter and display unit; and(B) upstream and downstream pipe work or emplacement that may have a material effect on the meter unit.This Australian Technical Specification applies to meters that operate under the following conditions:1 Closed conduit under full flow.2 Pressure ranges minimum 0.03 MPa to a value specified by the manufacturer. As a minimum, insertion or clamp-on meters will have the same working pressure range as the pipes they are designed to operate in.3 Working water temperature range of 0.1°C to 30°C. The maximum admissible temperature is 50°C, which is the limiting condition for the meter.4 Ambient air temperature range of (5°C to 55°C.5 Ambient humidity range of 0% to 100% except for the remote indicating devices where the range is 0% to 93%.
