The alternative survey scheme BV Mode I may be applied to products of category IBV subject to the agreement of the Society considering the type of product and the quantities produced. An agreed alternative survey scheme allows the manufacturer to carry out the required tests and examinations partly or totally without the attendance of the Surveyor when a Society Certificate is required.The alternative survey scheme applies only to examination and testing operations carried out by the manufacturer or by its subcontractors under its control. It does not include the design review activities which remain to be done as per the relevant procedures for the concerned products.
