CLSI C34 provides recommendations for sweat stimulation by pilocarpine iontophoresis (specific precautions are noted), sweat collection in filter paper or gauze (see Appendix A) or in a commercial sweat collector using coiled tubing (see Appendix B), and quantitative chloride measurement.
