Chromium occurs in water mostly in the oxidation forms III and VI. Either the method described in clause 3 or that described in clause 4 is used, according to the concentration of chromium in the water samples. Both methods give the sum of chromium (III) and chromium (VI). A standard is being prepared dealing with a method of determining chromium (VI) ions.
