The method specified in this standard serves to identify and quantify organotin compounds of type RnSn(4–n)+ (where R = butyl and n = 1 to 4, R = octyl and n = 1 to 2, R = phenyl and n = 3 or R = cyclohexyl and n = 3) in drinking water, surface water and waste water in concentrations ranging from 10 ng/l to 1000 ng/l for each component.
