The method described applies to all types of water with an oxygen depletion of not less than 0,2 mg/l during the test period, where the final oxygen content after incubation is not less than 0,5 mg/l when using sealed flanks for the determination, and the oxygen depletion possibly exceeds the initial oxygen content of the water sample when a respirometer is used.
