The method of non-destructive testing is used for locating discontinuities, such as cracks, laps, folds, porosity and lack of fusion, that are open to the surface in a material. It mainly serves to inspect metallic materials, but may also be used for other materials, provided that the surface of such material is compatible with the process materials and/or is non-absorbent.
