Proposes a single set of general conditions of contract, based on AS 2124-1992, suitable for design and construct, design novate and construct, and design develop and construct contracts. In a design and construct contract the Principal supplies the Contractor with a design brief and the Contractor undertakes the design, engagement of consultants and the construction of the project. In a design novate and construct contract the Principal commences the design and/or engages Consultants and once the design has reached an appropriate stage the Contract is let to a Contractor who takes over the responsibility for the Consultants by accepting responsibility for the design, has the design completed and constructs the project. In a design develop and construct the Principal supplies the Contractor with a preliminary design and the Contractor undertakes the design, engagement of consultants and the construction of the project.
