Proposes the adoption of IEC 896-1:1988, including IEC 896-1 Amendment 1:1988 and IEC 896-1 Amendment 2:1990, as an Australian Standard with the addition of Australian Appendix A. It proposes requirements for the construction and performance of vented lead-acid batteries intended for use in stationary applications. It proposes minimum safety and performance requirements and provides test methods.
