Proposes the treatment and tests for the Type 7-490 grade steel. It sets out also the interchangeability between Types 7-490 and 7-460 grades of steel (their production practices being very similar) with the exception of a slightly higher carbon equivalent used on the Type 7-490 grade to achieve a higher strength.
