Proposes the adoption of IEC 848:1988 as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard which describes an implementation-independent graphical representation method based on an industrial application of 'PETRI nets' used for the study of asynchronous events. The method may be applied to non-electrical systems. Copies of IEC 848:1988 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
