Proposes data acquisition methods which enable the description of the environmental noise in a specified area of land to be made in a uniform way, and enable the compatibility of any land use activity or projected activity with existing or predicted environmental noise to be assessed. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
