1.1 This standard specifies safety and performance requirements for the handles and knobs on items of cookware for use on the top of a stove or any other heating appliance and: a) Fixing systems used for attachment to the cookware; b) Cookware regardless of material or method of manufacture with the exceptions of glass, ceramic and glass ceramic articles; and c) Cookware intended for use both “on top” and “in oven”.
