This standard (Part 10) specifies the safety rules related to replacement of existing lifts permanently installed in existing buildings where in some circumstances due to limitations enforced by building constraints, some requirements of IS 17900 (Part 1) and IS 17900 (Part 2) cannot be met (see Foreword).
