A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Specifies the test methods for the characteristics of the complete generating set. The test methods existing for the engines (ISO 3046-2 and ISO 3046-3) and generators (IEC 34-2) may be used for their components. Applies to a.c. generating sets for land and marine use, excluding generating sets used on aircraft or to propel land vehicles and locomotives. For some specific applications (e.g. essential hospital supplies, high-rise buildings, etc.) supplementary requirements may be necessary.
