This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies an atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of the bismuth content in iron and steel, which employs electrothermal atomization. The method is applicable to bismuth contents (mass fraction) in steel of 0.000 1 % or over up to and including 0.002 0 %.
