This Standard specifies the requirements for the anodic oxide coatings on aluminium and aluminium alloys. However, it is not applicable to barrier layer anodic oxide coatings, chromic acid anodic oxide coatings, phosphoric acid anodic oxide coatings, oxide coatings intended merely to prepare the substrate for subsequent application of organic coatings or electrodeposition of metals, and hard anodic oxide coatings.
