This Standard specifies the guidelines (recommendations) for designing the range of sound pressure levels of auditory signals which the users of consumer products, especially visually impaired persons, the elderly with a visual impairment and hypacusis wich develops with aging can hear properly in consideration of the presence of jamming sounds. However, auditory signals regulated by other statutes such as signals for fire alrams, singnals for gas leakages, singnals for crime prevention, and auditory signals of an electronic chme and a voice guide, and auditory signals peculiar to a communication tool such as telephones are excluded.
