This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies electric wheelchairs, whose maximum speed is not exceeding 6 km/h, including user-operated standard type, user-operated simple type and user-operated adjustable seat position type equipped with reclining, lifting and tilting systems as defined in type classification of electric wheelchairs. However, handle type electric wheelchairs are excluded.
