Cette norme est applicable aux casques électriquement isolants utilisés pour le travail sur ou près de parties sous tension d'installations ne dépassant pas 1 000 V en courant alternatif ou 1 500 V en courant continu. Ces casques, lorsqu'ils sont utilisés simultanément à d'autres équipements de protection électriquement isolante, empêchent les courants dangereux de traverser les personnes par la tête.
