Provides results from a simulation that was done on trunk selection algorithms to support the Switched DS1/Switched Fractional DS1 service capability (SWF-DS1). This capability is intended for use by the Bellcore Client Companies (BCCs) to support DS1 and fractional DS1 services on a real-time switched basis that today can only be supported by private line service offerings. The SR compares the performance of several algorithms that could be used to support SWF-DS1. Both contiguous and non-contiguous algorithms were studies. The analysis shows that non-contiguous algorithms may have a small benefit over contiguous algorithms in some situations.
