This Technical Advisory (TA) provides the preliminary view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a dataport channel unit. D-type channel bank systems, when equipped with dataport channel units, provide for an economical and expeditious means to implement a Digital Data System (DDS) connection between a customer provided data signal at an end office and a DSX-0 crossconnect at a distant DDS hub office. Changes have been made in the original TA-to reflect comments generated by the review of the TA-by both the Bell Operating Companies and suppliers. The major change is to optional latching loopback control code sequence.
