Selective Call Acceptance (SCA), a CLASS feature, is a service that enables telephone customers to instruct a Stored Program Control System (SPCS) to accept call attempts from a limited number of calling parties. To use the service a customer can specify directory numbers (DNs) of calls to be accepted. Only call attempts to the customer from these customer-specified DNs are allowed to terminate to the customer. Unaccepted callers may be connected to a denial announcement, or forward to a specified DN, depending on whichever terminating treatment is applicable for a customer's service. If the call is routed to a denial announcement, the caller may enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN), which if correct, allows the call to be connected to the called party.
