Describes a system for classifying coating materials and systems for exterior wood surfaces by categories of end use, appearance and exposure conditions. Applies to all coating materials and systems for decorating and protecting exterior wood surfaces, including those containing biologically protective ingredients for coatings and their interface with wood surface (film preservation). Does not cover wood preservation.
