The guideline describes a sampling procedure for metals and semi-metals as part of the PM10 aerosol, a microwave pressure digestion of the sample in oxidizing acid mixture and the analysis using the following three techniques: Graphite tube atomic absorption spectrometry (GF-AAS), mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS).
