About ARINC Industry Activities

ARINC Industry Activities (IA) is an industry program of SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC), with the goal of setting consensus technical Standards known globally as ARINC Standards. The program develops shared technical solutions that would be beyond the scope of any single organisation. ARINC’s international aviation industry activities are organised through the AEEC, AMC and FSEMC, along with other eligible member organisations.

ARINC’s Standards and collaborative solutions can help increase cost effectiveness, boost productivity and reduce life-cycle costs for airlines and their partners across avionics, cabin systems and flight simulation and training industry segments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions about ARINC Industry Activities.

ARINC IA is an industry program of SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC), providing Standards and technical solutions for airlines and their industry partners. Its scope covers avionics, cabin systems, flight simulation and training segments across the international aviation industry. Using a cooperative and collaborative approach, ARINC IA establishes voluntary, consensus-based technical Standards that every industry-based organisation can refer and adhere to.

ARINC IA serves as the secretariat for the AEEC, AMC, and FSEMC member organisations. As secretariat, the body facilitates the major international meetings of aviation committees that are held every year. ARINC IA also schedules and reports on the findings of subcommittee and working group meetings, publishing the subsequent ARINC Standards and other technical products that emerge from these meetings. The AEEC develops engineering and technical Standards for airborne electronics common across the aviation community. The AMC develops technical Standards related to maintenance. The FSEMC develops technical Standards associated with simulation and training.

The three classes of ARINC Standards are characteristics, specifications and reports.

ARINC IA is part of the non-profit SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (SAE ITC), which is based in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, US.
