A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The measurement is carried out at a concentration of 100 g/l. The principle consists in measurement at a temperature of (20 +- 1) C, using a pH meter fittet with glass and calomel electrodes. Water, free from carbon dioxide, shall be used in the analysis.
