This commercial item description covers temperature-regulating valves designed to maintain fairly constant temperatures in heaters and storage tanks by regulation of the inlet fluid flow of the heating or cooling medium. The valves specified herein are intended to control temperatures by varying the fluid flow of a heat-transfer medium which is used to either heat or cool a separate fluid flow. Usually the valve application involves utilization of steam flow to heat water in instantaneous heaters and storage tanks. In addition to these functions, the type II valve is capable of regulating the heated equipment supply pressure.
