The purpose of this specification is to establish requirements for purgingelectrical equipment enclosures which will enable such equipment to beused in flammable and explosive atmospheres without risk of fire or explosion, i.e. as required by certain Mining Regulations or by the SAA Wiring Rules (AS CC1, Part I) for defined hazardous locations.
