Specifies dial-type thermometers, which can be adapted as floating dairy thermometers, in two temperature ranges, viz. 0 to 50 degrees Celsius to +110 degrees Celsius. Requirements relate to materials, construction, clarity of temperature indication, accuracy, response time and marking. Examples of graduation and figuring are given, and appendices describe methods for determining scale error and repeatability of temperature readings.

This specification applies to dial-type thermometers for general purpose use in the dairying industry.
