This Standard specifies requirements for single-use non-woven materials made of natural or man-made (synthetic) fibres or their blends intended for use as non-reusable wraps for goods undergoing sterilization in health care facilities. NOTES: 1 It is not intended that this Standard inhibit the innovative usage of new non-woven materials, provided that any materials used comply with the requirements of the Standard. 2 Wraps made of paper are dealt with in AS 1079.2. 3 Products meeting this Standard may be suitable for use in the medical device industry.
