Specifies requirements, additional to those in AS 1418.1, covering hoists essentially for use in the building industry. Types included are material hoists, concrete skip hoists, and men and material hoists, as defined in AS 2549. Application, classification, load ratings, load combinations, design, construction, marking, testing, inspection and maintenance, operation and use are covered. Appendices provide guidance on information for enquiry, order, tender and hire, statutory approval and commissioning inspection.
