Specifies a standard reference zero for the scale of hearing threshold level monaural earphone listening to pure tones of certain stated frequencies. The information applies to the calibration of audiometers and details the required acoustical response of certain types of earphones measured on the wide band artificial ear or the reference coupler. Obsolete data has been deleted together with earphone and coupler combinations which are no longer in use.
