Specifies common requirements for personal flotation devices and other types of buoyancy aids. Comprehensive requirements for materials (including retroreflective material) and finished products are included. Specific requirements for personal flotation devices are set out in AS 1499, AS 1512 and AS 2260. Specific requirements for rescue buoys are given in AS 2261 and those for float-off buoyancy aids are given in AS 2262.
