Specifies requirements for semiconductor stabilized power supplies designed to supply a.c. power from either an a.c. or d.c. power source. It does not cover power supplies for electrical measurement equipment. It includes the electrical performance requirements and nominates the physical dimensions to be listed when specifying a unit. Test methods covering the stabilized output and electromagnetic interference are included. The Standard is based on IEC 686.

This standard specifies requirements for stabilized power supplies designed to supply a.c. power from an a.c. or d.c. source. Power supplies for electrical measurement are excluded.
