Sets out a method for the determination of loss of mass on heating alumina at 300 degrees Celsius and 1000 degrees Celsius. The method is suitable for calcined alumina in the range 0.1 percent to 5 percent loss of mass at 300 degrees Celsius and 0.1 percent to 2 percent loss of mass at 1000 degrees Celsius.
