Specifies general safety requirements for household and similar appliances. It is a base Specification which, when combined with a particular Specification in the AS 3300 series, becomes a complete specification for an individual product. It is not normally used without a particular Specification. Closely follows IEC 335-1 (2nd Edition) including Amendments No 1 to No 5. Identical with NZS 6300:1988 and produced as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
