Sets out guidelines to be applied for the assembly of components on printed boards. It covers handling of the components, preparation of the base board, the insertion of components, soldering, inspection, and specialized subjects such as cleaning and conformal coatings. The assembly of surface-mounted components is treated briefly. Solder, soldering and solderability is however, treated in detail due to the importance of these aspects of printed board assemblies.
