This Standard sets out requirements for the preparation, analysis and certification procedures of traceable reference gas mixtures. This Standard applies to the preparation, analysis and certification of a reference gas mixture (RGM) whose range of concentrations is dependent on the commercially available certified reference gas mixture (CRGM,) and primary gravimetric standards (PGS); for this Standard, RGMs are limited to, from 50% of the lowest concentration CRGM or PGS available, up to 200% of the highest concentration of CRGM, or PGS available.NOTE: While this Standard applies to the preparation of any RGM, a typical end use is automotive emissions, an example of which is found in Appendix A.
