Specifies the basic requirements for the specification and testing of Series 1 and Series R thermal containers, which are suitable for international exchange and for conveyance by road, rail and sea, including interchange between these forms of transport. This Standard is reproduced from ISO 1496-2:1996 and introduces requirements for Series R freight containers in an appendix.
