This Standard specifies requirements for cold mix asphalt for use as a road maintenance patching material that is suitable for stockpiling prior to use. In particular, this Standard includes requirements for materials, typical mix proportions, production temperatures, and sampling and testing methods.Cold asphalt mixes produced in accordance with this Standard are intended for use as permanent repair of bituminous surfacing on lightly trafficked roads or as temporary repair of more heavily trafficked roads. Other forms of cold bituminous mixtures intended for use as structural pavement layers are not covered by this Standard.
