Applies to industrial castors with wheel diameters from 3 in. to 12 in. and load capacities from 125 to 2500 lbf. The specification applies to both swivel and rigid type castors for light, medium and heavy duty and fitted to manual and towed equipment, but does not cover castors used for very light applications such as furniture and toys. Requirements for dimensions, load capacities, identification, standards of workmanship, finish, marking and testing are specified. For metric castors see AS 1961.
