A bordeaux connection is a simple and convenient fitting for the attacment of wire rope to short link chain where the joined members are required to run over a pulley, as with grabbing cranes. This specification applies to bordeaux connections having safe working loads between 1.4 tonf and 10.5 tonf and suitable for the attachment of wire rope of 1/2 inch (13 mm) to 1 3/8 inch (35 mm) diameter to short link chains. It refers to materials, heat treatment, dimensions, manufacture, testing and marking.
