This Standard co-ordinates the requirements for electric power switchgear and associated apparatus for voltages in excess of 100 volts for direct-current and alternating-current of frequencies up to 100 cycles per second such as are employed in connection with generating, transmitting, transforming and converting plant and large motors. It is not intended to cover the requirements for specific apparatus for which separate standards may exist, nor the additional requirements for switchgear for use in mines and explosive atmospheres.
