This specification applies to contactors intended for making and breaking electric circuits of voltages up to 11 kV alternating current and up to 650 volts direct current. It applies to air-break and to oil-break contactors, whether operated electro-magnetically, pneumatically, or electro-pneumatically but excludes contactors for electric traction and contactors for aircraft.
