Applies to corner fittings for freight containers of all sizes covered in AS 1563, AS 1564 and also to containers of any other size which require mechanical handling devices. Designation, dimensions and design features and requirements for marking and stamping of the fittings are specified. Appendices give examples of container handling methods including their use of different forms of transport, e.g. road, rail and sea, and cover typical lifting devices for taper and parallel sided twist locks.
